The time has come to say good bye to our location next to the Soda Springs Post Office. It’s hard to imagine that we’ve been somewhere in that building for over 52 years. There was a years long stint across the street in Tinker’s but that was short-lived compared to our time in the old store building. In fact, when a prior owner of Serene Lakes Realty ran the store, they used to put a sign in the realty office window inviting prospective buyers to come into the store. I couldn’t imagine running both businesses, but that was before buying property up here became a regular thing.
We decided to purchase the small building at the flashing light, up the street. Many people still remember it as a ski shop. In the recent past it was home to Donner Summit Historical Society. It needs a lot of cosmetic upgrades to make a chic yet rustic office so we are busy getting it ready. I suspect we’ll open sometime in June. In the meantime, we are working from home, from our cars, from the new space in the midst of the remodel, and meeting clients as normal. We are looking forward to having an open house so we’ll be sure to invite all our past clients and friends.
